Body of Knowledge

French wines are usually made to accompany food.

It’s Body of Knowledge!  After a brief hiatus last week, we’re back this week for some knowledge-y fun.  I’m blogging from a hotel room in Culpeper, and I just attended a wine tasting where I tasted about 9 wines.  Good times, friends.  My sister’s getting married tomorrow, and I’m exhausted!  Why not share what we learned over the past week?  This seems as good a time as any.

  • First of all, this just looks disgusting.  At what point do we just draw the line and say once and for all that things like this are not actually food?
  • Alissa has an awesome ‘recovery cheat sheet‘ with some great things on it.  I love her ideas and I’m inspired to make a sheet of my own…stay tuned for it this week!
  • I wish I were half as funny as Lindsay.  Half as fast would also be nice.  Check out her post on yoga research.
  • Did you know that May is mental health month?  Jill is calling attention to the reasons why devoting a month to mental health awareness is important.
  • Personally I hate it when I hear people say that they need to ‘work off’ a treat, or that they have ‘earned’ a piece of chocolate or some French fries.  That’s why I love Ashley’s post on why you should eat dessert.
  • Did you hear about this dog?  He’s pretty cute.

And that’s that!  Short and sweet, that’s how I like to keep things around here.  Here’s my question for you: what are your favorite blogs?  Running-related, body image-related, anything-related…I want to hear all about them.  Share what you love most in the comments.

  1. Okay, want the hell is up with putting crap in cans and boxes, etc…? Is it really that hard to pre make a sandwich and carry it somewhere already done? At least it is PB&J and not some mistery meat sandwich. Could you imagine…blech!

Have fun at your sis’s wedding! How exciting! 🙂

  2. Oh my, the favourite blogs question!

You are actually the only running/health blog I follow. Most of the ones I read are humour blogs or fertility/parenting blogs. I’m not part of the ttc community, nor do I have kids (someday, maybe) but the strength, humour and grace of the people who are never cease to amaze me.

    Humour Blogs:
Other than the big guns (The Bloggess, Mommy Wants Vodka, and Hyperbole and a Half), I love Naked Cupcakes and What Were You Thinking?

    Fertility/Parenting/TTC Blogs:
Womb For Improvement, Yo Mama’s Blog, Motherhood in NYC, Nuts in May

I’d love to track down some more ED blogs 🙂

  3. Favorite Blogs…

    – MWF Seeking BFF — http://www.mwfseekingbff.com — About the difficulty of making close friends as an adult

    – Hyperbole And A Half — http://www.hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com — HILARIOUS!

    – Ikea Hackers — http://www.ikeahackers.net — DIY transforming basic Ikea pieces to suit your needs

    – Charm City Roller Girls –http://charmcityrollergirls.tumblr.com/ — Mostly just reposts from other blogs and action photos of the greatest roller derby league in the Galaxy

    – Design Sponge — http://www.designspongeonline.com/ — Usually too crafty crappy for me (“Arts and FARTS and crafts!”) but the Thursday Before and After posts are great!

I read lots of other stuff too, but those are some highlights I think you may enjoy. I’m always looking for other suggestions!
